Then the stars Toheti, Toheta, Tupuanuku, Tupuarangi, Ururangi and Waipunaarangi said lets go play tag in the sea. Then a giant named Tataraimaka made a net using magical flax from the spirit fields. Then a man named tane god of light threw the net off of tataraimaka and threw the 7 fishes into the sky and called them the matariki stars .
